Seton Teaching Fellow Featured
About the Program . Seton Teaching Fellows (STF) is an initiative of Seton Education Partners, participating in its mission to serve underprivileged children and give them the opportunity to develop the knowledge, character, and faith necessary to earn a college degree, pursue lives of value and integrity, and become saints. Seton Teaching Fellows is a post-graduate mission opportunity that seeks to bring the Catholic faith to the margins of American society. A fellow helps students, their families, and peers know, love, and serve Christ and his Church, developing the habits, dispositions, and beliefs indispensable to human flourishing and happiness. He or she does this by teaching at a classically-inspired, virtue-based charter school connected to an explicitly Catholic faith formation program in the South Bronx, the poorest congressional district in America. Grounding their work within an intentional faith-based community, a Fellow receives the spiritual, sacramental, and communal nourishment necessary for forming disciples in this world and saints in the next. About Seton. Seton Education Partners was co-founded in 2009 by KIPP Foundation co-founder Scott Hamilton and Teach For America alumna Stephanie Saroki de García to expand opportunities for traditionally underserved children to receive a Catholic education that builds knowledge, character, and faith. Seton does this by strategically infusing creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and talented leadership to reverse the widespread decline of urban Catholic education. Seton pioneers new, “break-the-mold” approaches to achieving the academic, character, religious and social justice goals of Catholic education in an economically viable way. About the position.
