The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan, (CFWM), an independent 501(C)3 operating foundation within the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is hiring its first permanent full-time executive director to build a team of professionals and grow The Foundation. The executive director will be responsible for launching the recently approved, donor-centric strategic plan spanning 2020-2022. The director should be a practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church who supports the philosophy, values, and mission of the Catholic Church and that of the Diocese of Grand Rapids.

The executive director will lead and advance The Foundation to inspire new generosity that impacts the lives of others while enriching our common Catholic faith. Specifically, the executive director will serve:

  • as the primary organizational relationship leader and champion for donors and Catholic organizations who currently have or are eager to establish new charitable giving funds within The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan;
  • steward The Foundation’s socially responsible financial assets and investing strategy;
  • recommend grant funding to benefit the funding priorities of The Foundation: sharing our Catholic faith, educating children and young adults, supporting religious vocations, helping the poor and vulnerable, and caring for creation; given the needs of the 11-county Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan and beyond.

Established in 1995, The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan is one of the top 50 independent Catholic community foundations across the United States. The Foundation currently manages hundreds of permanent endowments and funds and is expanding its offering of new fund types to donors and organizations as part of the 2020-2022 strategic plan. The Foundation stewards $66M in assets and currently distributes more than $2.2M in annual grants to benefit a number of parishes, schools, agencies, and ministries throughout West Michigan.
