St. Edmunds Retreat - Enders Island

Enders Island is a scenic 11-acre island which serves as a Catholic retreat facility, a recovery residence for college-aged men, and the home of the Sacred Art Institute.

St. Edmund's Retreat

St. Edmund's Retreat on Enders Island is recognized as one of the premiere Catholic retreat centers in the northeast. It is well-grounded in the lived experience of the Church. True to our heritage and the founding charism of the Society of St. Edmund, we embody St Paul’s sense of hospitality: “You are strangers and aliens no longer — but members of the household of God.”

Recovery Ministry

For over 50 years, Enders Island has been steeped in the work of recovery: hosting weekly Twelve Step meetings, coordinating weekend Eleventh Step Retreats, and providing college-aged men a unique Recovery Community which allows them to rebuild their lives within the stability of a supportive and sober community.

Sacred Art Institute

Here, students of the fine arts can participate in an immersive, hands-on learning experience of the sacred arts in the Catholic tradition. The Mission of the Sacred Art Institute is to study and teach artistic expression, to preserve our heritage and to create fine sacred art while promoting the highest standards of excellence.

Virtual Community

You will find the same enthusiasm, experiences and more when you arrive through our new Enders Island Virtual Community. Here, you will not only have access to a growing library of resources, but you can engage directly with us and each other through live classes, conversation, and innovative programming.
