Located at 306 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ, we are welcoming Catholic community of 3700 families called by God to live out the message of Christ in love and service to all people. We have over 50 ministries, as well as a flourishing religious education program and School.

Our parish is led by Msgr. Robert Meyer (Father Bob) and we always encourage new Parishioners, ministry members, and volunteers to join us!

The STA Mission offers a unique experience for young people looking to grow their faith and use their gifts in service of the Catholic Church through various parish ministries. The STA Mission is an intentional faith-based community designed to focus on evangelization through pastoral ministry. Residents live in a community with an emphasis on developing Gospel values, personally and with those to whom they minister. The STA Internship community seeks to embody the living Gospel of Jesus Christ and share the Good News in the world by developing, embracing and fostering the work of a vibrant Catholic parish. The STA Internship Community will: Live in an intentional residential community in mutual support that also provides a spiritual home for the residents as well as hosts gatherings for the wider community; offer hospitality and good examples of faith for seekers; focus on Scripture, especially the four Gospels, for conversion of life for oneself and those encountered; celebrate the sacraments in the context of the parish community; support one another's work and service both in the parish and local community; govern themselves under the supervision of the Pastor and Pastoral Associate to live with mutual accountability according to respective responsibilities. Each member of the team will have a unique and distinct project for the months of engagement, including, but not limited to: Faith Formation, Young Adult Ministry, Social Outreach or Administration. Applicants must: Be a practicing Roman Catholic; have attained or working towards a Bachelor's Degree; possess emotional and spiritual maturity; have a willingness to live in a community; provide 20 hours of service per week; commit to serving 6-12 months. Preference will be given to candidates who: Are bi-lingual, can sing or play a musical instrument; have a similar job or life experience. Applicants will be able to work part-time provided the job does not interfere with his/her community responsibilities. Room, board, and a small stipend will be provided. Each candidate must also provide his/her own health insurance.

Role Purpose The Youth Ministry Team is comprised of adults who will be responsible for living out their Catholic faith to encourage and invite middle and high school students to have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as his disciples. Role Purpose The First Communion Facilitator is responsible for intentionally forming elementary age children and parents in their journey of faith in regards to sacramental preparation. The role is meant to provide our families, not just our children,  with comprehensive faith formation that will result in sacramental reception and a lifelong desire towards discipleship as a family unit. Duties and Responsibilities The First Communion Facilitator will perform the following functions: Provide a safe space for children and parents preparing for their sacraments (Reconciliation and Communion) to explore their faith and grow in it Meet weekly with a group of 10-12 families for sacramental preparation sessions using an RCIC curriculum Empower and engage students to live out their faith Cooperate with the Faith Formation team and its programming and tasks Other duties as assigned Qualifications Some qualifications required for the position: Bachelor’s Degree, in a related field preferred Practicing Roman Catholic Knowledgeable and articulate in regards to the tenants of the Roman Catholic faith, a degree or certificate a plus A positive role-model and witness to a life of faith Motivation to serve and minister to students Must pass a criminal background check Must receive a Protecting God’s Children certificate Considerations Some items to be considered for the position: 5 hours a week; 1 hour for prep, 4 hours for instruction in small group setting Classes meet on Sunday mornings Possess a willingness to work on a team with a co-catechist Participate in monthly teacher meeting Stipend Training provided

Role Purpose A live sound technician manages audio equipment, such as a mixing board, during indoor or outdoor events and live performances at church. A technician is responsible for sound checks, equipment placement, volume and quality of sound. Produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This includes, but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey, and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service. Ultimately, glorify God through providing excellent audio services. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and direct sound and visual checks with band members and others involved in the production to ensure equipment is functioning properly and that proper sound levels and sound mix is obtained Evaluate the status of the sound board and reconfigure as needed. Check, replace batteries in, and distribute wireless microphones and other equipment as needed to equip band members, speakers, etc. Arrive prior to the scheduled event/activity time and begin review of service schedule and other information related to the service or special event Coordinate visual queues for screens for the congregation Other duties as assigned Qualifications Some items to be considered for the position: Experience mixing audio in a live environment Experience presenting videos and visuals on screens in a live environment Organized, dependable and detail oriented Cooperative team member Ability to think quickly and react/trouble-shoot properly in high stress situations. Job Purpose To lead our younger children to grow in faith and to create a safe space for them to do so while their parents attend the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. Additionally, be available for Child Care opportunities at the parish for specific events. Duties and Responsibilities The Early Childhood Faith Formation Minister will oversee the following areas: Lead young children, from 2 years to 5 years, in activities, stories, games, and song to help them learn about faith. Interact positively with parents and children to create a safe space for the children to have faith-filled moments. Arrive on time for the Faith Formation sessions every Sunday of the month at 10 AM (except for holidays and when noted otherwise). Remain 15 minutes after the session ends for a debriefing and to receive instruction to prepare for the next session Come prepared for the sessions with the aligned curriculum Provide and supervise childcare alongside a group of volunteers for scheduled parish events Qualifications: The candidate for Early Childhood Faith Formation Minister, ought to have the following criteria: Pass a criminal background check Obtain a Protecting God’s Children certificate Have some experience in Early Childhood Education Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus Considerations: The candidate for Early Childhood Faith Formation Minister ought to consider the following regarding this position: The position is a stipend position for $50 per event (each event is approx. 1 hour) It is important that candidates can serve from September through May.
