Job Title: CATHOLIC SPIRITUAL LEADER.

 

 Requirement:

The candidate shall possess, at a minimum, a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in some form of religious studies. The Candidate shall possess an ordination certification or like document verifying their recognition as a clergy or spiritual leader. The Candidate shall have a minimum of three years of documented and continuous experience as a minister with their faith community. Experience working in a correctional setting is preferred but not required.

 

                                                                

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Catholic Spiritual Leader shall be responsible for providing religious instruction and leadership for Catholic inmates. 

The Catholic Spiritual Leader will lead Catholic worship services in the FCI and Camp Chapel.

The Catholic Spiritual Leader shall provide Catholic services utilizing the materials listed below in a correctional setting.

  • Sacraments
  • Days of Obligation and Sunday Worship
  • Understanding Sacred Scripture

  • Seasons of the Church Year
  • Veneration of Saints
  • Adoration Reserved for God Alone
  • Celebration of the Eucharist (ritual practices)
  • Ecumenism
  • Understanding Sin
  • Reconciliation
  • The Role of the Family in Catholic Life
  • Spirituality
  • The Disciplines of the Church (Fasting, etc.)
  • Sacramentals
