Emmaus Catholic Hospice

Emmaus Catholic Hospice

Our Mission is to provide authentically Catholic home hospice care in the Denver community.

Building our loving service in Colorado for nearly 100 years, Dominican Home Health Agency now has a new name and focus: Emmaus Hospice.

We are created for connection and communion, with God and one another. This truth feels more important than ever as we reflect on the realities of the pandemic and the effects of quarantine restrictions. We grieve for those who suffered in isolation and for those who died without familiar faces at their bedside or access to the sacraments.

With all this in mind, God put it on our hearts to establish Catholic home hospice care, something we wish would have existed in Denver during the height of the pandemic.

We want this care of the whole person—body and soul—to take place in the home, where patients and families have more freedom to be together and where so many prefer to spend their final days. Remaining authentically Catholic is essential to us so that patients and their families can trust us in their difficult seasons. We will offer solid spiritual care and prioritize access to the sacraments right alongside the exceptional clinical care they need.

The road before you was not meant to be traveled alone.

Christ is here.

We are building our clinical and administrative teams today to serve patients in their homes next year. We will continue what the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor started, assuring the people of Denver we serve: you are seen and heard and loved—and you still matter.

While we come to this new mission with 99 years of service to the community, we are also creating something brand new. Please pray with us and for us as we build this pro-life ministry.

With God’s grace and you by our side, we will journey with patients and their families, providing the care they deserve so that they can experience Christ’s love.

Emmaus Catholic Hospice adheres to Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
