Franciscan Sisters of the Poor

The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in the United States minister in a variety of settings serving in pastoral services, spiritual and retreat ministries, holistic therapies, program administrators, board members and volunteers in an assortment of endeavors focusing on persons in need. The Sisters’ foundational ministries are prayer and healing presence. The US Area currently sponsors five ministries that include: 

  • Centennial Barn, a venue for social and business events and programs.
  • Franciscans for the Poor, a volunteer service program for young adults.
  • Franciscan Gardens, a community garden serving local gardeners and immigrant communities.
  • Franciscan Haircuts from the Heart, hair care services to persons of low or no income.
  • Tamar’s Place, a haven for women involved in prostitution and those who struggle with the disease of addiction.

The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Administrative Coordinator to provide support to the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide range of secretarial and other functions related to the needs of the Sisters, operation of St. Clare Campus and the international Congregation and Leadership Council of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor. Fostering and implementing the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor is critical to this role. This position is 20 hrs/week. Responsibilities include: Answers phone calls and directs the caller to the appropriate person or department Handles incoming and outgoing mail, packages and other deliveries Attends to the front door, welcoming Sisters, staff and on-site visitors Creates, prints, distributes, posts, mails hardcopies and emails communications, notifications, calendars, etc....
