Mission 

Catholic sports is a growing national faith-based community. We build authentic community through our sports leagues, but you will find more than sports as part of our mission to create authentic community!

That authentic community we define as one that heals emotional and spiritual loneliness, in unity with the Catholic faith, and welcoming to all people through the living out of our core values. 

Leagues, bible studies, social events and community houses are also apart of our mission. 

How We Started 

Catholic Sports started in April of 2010. Prior to our launch, Paul Spotts, the Founder and President, had spent several years in campus ministry. After leaving campus life, he recognized the vast need for an authentic Catholic community for young adults. His ministry experience had taught him a couple key things that are core to Catholic Sports:

  1.  Authentic community is crucial to counter a culture of loneliness. Community at its core should be enjoyable, but true lasting joy is only found in Jesus. Thus, Christ must be the reason and underlying purpose for all sources of community, otherwise it will devolve into an anti-unity and become divisive.

  2. Our core values are truly capable of transforming our lives and yours.

VULNERABLE INTIMACY Growth in the spiritual life begins with an act of vulnerability and vulnerability is the root of intimacy. This is the basis of friendship that we foster in our community. We "share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves." cf. 1 Thes2:8

About Catholic Sports Catholic Sports is a Denver-based, nationally growing young adult recreational sports ministry.
