Detroit Catholic is an online, multichannel media and news service of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. It is the digital successor to the archdiocese's longtime award-winning official newspaper, The Michigan Catholic, which was in operation from 1872 to 2018. Continuing that tradition of excellence, the mission of Detroit Catholic is to tell stories that keep Catholic leaders, influencers and laity informed, inspired and involved on the most important and meaningful topics of the day affecting Catholics in the Detroit area and the Church universal.
As part of our mission, we cover Catholic parishes, schools, institutions and people within Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Lapeer and St. Clair counties in southeast Michigan.
