About International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons

The International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons, IOKDS, is an international, interdenominational, intergenerational Christian community with the International Headquarters located in Chautauqua, New York. It is comprised of approximately 3000 members. We embody God’s love to improve the lives of others of all ages and circumstances through service. Every day we are challenged to change individuals’ lives because people are vulnerable in this fragmented world. IOKDS Learn & Discern college interns, Clergy Renewal pastors & spouses, and vacationers in our Affordable Housing are passionate about their summer program experiences at our facilities on the Chautauqua Institution grounds. Amplified by the Chautauqua Institution’s pillars of education, religion, the arts, and recreation, our learning programs invigorate participants with perspective and spirit enriching their daily lives. At the international level, we award college scholarships to decrease tuition burden in the fields of health and ministry. Scholarships in any field of study are also available to students of Native American blood line and to third world students affiliated with Kids Alive International. Upon successful completion of their work, scholarships are awarded to IOKDS interns in any field of study. Locally, our 3000 members identify needs and lend a hand to children and adults for food security, safe housing, and physical/mental health. We also partner with local social service organizations who share our values of compassion and cooperation. Find out about our "Learn & Discern" Internships at
