Visitation Home is seeking a caring and compassionate individual who is interested in living in community with individuals that have developmental disabilities. A successful candidate will have the desire and capacity to live with, learn from, and relate to people with developmental disabilities (our residents) on a personal level, as well as the ability to work well on a team and care for a home. Duties include but are not limited to supervising residents with chores and general up-keep/cleanliness of the home, preparing meals, organizing and participating in weekend outings and activities, fostering a home life of peace, unity, respect and participation of all household members, provide direct support where needed with activities of daily living, and maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment. Live-in staff are also expected to support residents in the community activities that our residents choose to be a part of. This may include religious services. Visitation Home is open to all faiths and Catholicism is not a prerequisite. At least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent (College Education preferred)
Preferred experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or caregiving experience
Ability to take responsibility for health and safety of other individuals, including some potential overnight supervision
Ability to make a one year commitment, two year commitment preferred
Compensation/Benefits: $25,000 annual stipend salary plus room and board, health insurance benefits eligible after 3 months
