Are you a compassionate professional interested in a meaningful career helping to build forever families?  If so, the Adoption Program Coordinator could be your next career move!  This full-time position is responsible for all activity related to infant adoption placements with adoptive parents including family assessments, Adoptive Parent Education classes, family preparation for, and support during, child placement, and post-placement supervision. 

To be effective in this critical role, the preferred candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with an open adoption philosophy, as well as cultural sensitivity and maturity in working with infertile adoptive families.  In addition to working with adoptive parents and families, the Adoption Program Coordinator serves as a representative of CSSW to promote adoption, network in the community, and build relationships with area Churches and other faith-based organizations.  While most work is performed during the weekday, due to the nature of the job some evening and weekend work may be required.  A shared on-call responsibility is in place to manage the 24/7 availability requirement. 

Additional requirements include a working knowledge of Michigan adoption law and the ability to work effectively with Probate Court-Juvenile Division.  Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required plus LBSW; Master’s in Social Work with LMSW highly preferred.   

Competitive pay will be dependent on experience and qualifications.  Total compensation includes comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off and paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
