Job Description


The Copywriter expands OCP’s overall presence and interaction on non-OCP properties by providing and coordinating content to drive customer engagement and conversation with OCP. Additionally, the position supports traditional PR efforts in support of product and artist promotion. This position creates content that consistently represents the brand and voice of OCP as it pertains to the artists, composers, events, music and products.  


The Copywriter is responsible for soliciting, organizing, and contributing content to all media channels to achieve company objectives. This position uses all major print, digital and social media channels to grow OCP’s exposure and engagement to create brand awareness, lead generation and sales.  To achieve these objectives the Copywriter creates original content including: press releases, email marketing, blog posts, social media, print collateral and multimedia/digital content. They work closely with the designers and art director on concept and development of multimedia and video; storyboarding, script writing, interviewing and video coordination with outside parties (this may include promotional videos, documentaries, self-promotion and/or branding, tutorials, etc.).


  • Create and edit content for publication on OCP web properties.
  • Create content for email marketing campaigns
  • Facilitate content creation by OCP artists and staff,  produce unique content for blog posts and infographics that can be distributed to mainstream media and other social media influencers
  • Work directly with composers/artists in writing, editing and updating online promotional content for publication and self-promotion efforts. Work closely with artists providing expert advice for social reach, publicity and event promotion
  • Help write press releases to support major product release and artist promotional efforts
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to proof and edit existing copy and recommend appropriate writing style, grammar and syntax to ensure consistency in meeting company standards and brand guidelines


  • Works to create the content necessary for nurture campaigns
  • Writes and edits copy for a twice yearly catalog
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Strong knowledge of Catholic liturgy and messaging toward our core Catholic audience essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience creating engaging content for web consumption
  • Working knowledge of mainline church liturgy preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience in social media, marketing, communications and promotional projects.
  • Excellent oral, written, and customer communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the music industry a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent time and project management skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience specializing in public relations, journalism, communications or closely related.
