In order to strengthen operations and expand the role of lay leadership, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany seeks a strategic, experienced business leader with demonstrated skills in operations and in developing effective teams to serve as Chief Operating Officer.
This unique leadership opportunity includes supporting diocesan central staff and the parishes they serve in order to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of the Catholic Church. The COO will assist the Bishop of Albany with the development and implementation of long-term strategies.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, the ability and experience to move the organization forward, and a keen eye for improving and streamlining existing processes to make them more efficient and effective. Master’s Degree in a related field required, with a minimum of ten years at an executive level. Knowledge of typical diocesan structures and operations is preferred.

The Albany Diocese covers 14 counties over 10,000 square miles in upstate New York and includes 126 parishes and 21 Catholic schools.
