St. Patrick’s Parish, a friendly Catholic community of 1100 families at the foot of the Chugach Mountains in Anchorage, Alaska, has an immediate opening for dynamic, qualified applicants for the position of Director of Evangelization and Parish Life. Successful applicants must be actively practicing their Catholic Faith, love children and young people, and have a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level. Master’s degree in Catholic Religious Education/Administration, Evangelization, Religious Studies, Pastoral Theology, or related field is required; career experience in a related field may be substituted. At least three years of ministerial experience in a Catholic parochial or diocesan environment is necessary, with demonstrated experience engaging multiple stakeholders and diverse cultures.
Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be adept at using social media and technology. Strong skills regarding recruitment, training, motivation, and appreciation of others in the spirit of Christian Stewardship is essential. Also essential is experience in education, training, and train-the-trainer methodologies. Strong spiritual leadership skills from a servant-leader perspective are a plus as well as good public speaking and presentation skills. A large component of this position involves being able to engage with and motivate people, especially youth and young adults.
