Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS), a Ministry of the Diocese of Oakland is seeking Catholic individuals with strong customer service and communication skills who enjoy working with people. This position requires arranging and coordinating funeral services to assist families at two locations, one in Hayward and one in Oakland.
In addition to an excellent compensation program, including competitive hourly rate, vacation, health and retirement benefits, there is an opportunity to earn commissions on pre-need sales.
CFCS is looking for career minded candidates who are caring individuals that want to succeed and grow in this meaningful ministry. The following are important qualifications:

• Minimum two-year college degree required, four-year college degree a plus.
• Minimum of two-years customer service work experience with the following abilities to include, but     are not limited to:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required, or at least proficiency with conversational Spanish.
  • Must be able to work at least 2 Saturdays per month.
  • Must be able to work evenings and day times.
  • A California Funeral Director's license is preferred.
  • Ability to follow CFCS arrangement processes and deliver service to families in a professional and respectful manner.
  • To lead and follow through with all arrangement details in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • To be the lead person at vigils and funeral services.
  • To guide and assist families, participants, ministers and presiders throughout the service process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn our funeral/cemetery management software system.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to train and learn.
