Job Description

Marin Catholic currently has an opening for a full-time Campus Ministry Associate for the 2021-22 school year. 

* Position will begin August 2021.

As a part of the Campus Ministry Team, the Campus Ministry Associate, like other faculty and staff at Marin Catholic High School, has the primary responsibility to implement the school philosophy through instructional competence, through participation in the creation of a school community, and through their role as a bridge between the individual student and the world community. The Campus Ministry Associate reports to the Director of Campus Ministry. 

 About the Department of Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry is Marin Catholic’s response to the spiritual and religious needs of its students. Campus Ministry contributes to the human and Christian formation of students by accompanying them in their respective journey of faith. Through prayer, sacramental experiences, liturgies, retreats, Christian service hours, faith-focused gatherings, and student leadership development, our Campus Ministry Team provides a breadth of opportunities that invite and encourage young people to grow in relationship with God through meaningful encounters with the sacred. 

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supervises Christian Service hours programs which involve students working directly with those of the wider community in need of help.
  • Ensures that Christian service activities are in accord with Church teaching.
  • Helps locate and partner with agencies at which students can perform service.
  • Assists in the articulation of school wide service projects.
  • Supports the implementation of day and/or overnight student retreats.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned, including evenings related to professional responsibilities.

Qualifications, credentials, experience, knowledge & skills for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's degree, preferred.
  • Passion for and familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching.
  • High school experience, preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Desire to share his/her faith journey.
  • Student focused and lifelong learner.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, parents and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and eagerness to work as a collaborative team member is essential.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with education and prior experience.
