Studio Production Specialist

Summary

The Studio Production Specialist operates video cameras, audio equipment, and lighting equipment in our new studio to create courses, podcasts, promotional videos, product videos, and more. Reporting directly to the President of Ruah Woods Press, the Studio Production Specialist also works closely with the Director of Training and the Marketing/Editing Specialist.

This is a full-time and salaried position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates video cameras, on location or in the studio, in the production of professional pre-recorded and live programming.
  • Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions.
  • Runs studio during live productions with multiple camera angles and broadcasts to appropriate platforms.
  • Handles repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties.
  • Organizes studio equipment, tools, and sets, for optimal efficiency in creating content.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Must be a practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings of the Church.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in communications, videography, or related field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canon cameras, studio lighting, microphones, soundproofing, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to work on a team to help storyboard a concept and execute the filming or recording.
  • Knowledge and love of the life and work of St. John Paul II preferred but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to audio, video, and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
  • Ability to configure, operate and maintain studio and/or field audio, lighting, and associated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft 365, and Basecamp.
  • Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
  • Knowledge of WordPress design and function preferred but not required.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment, ladders, and lighting.
