Job Description

The Senior Marketing Specialist will play an integral role in building and engaging the OSV audiences for primarily business-to-consumer. This will include working with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies designed to engage the target audiences, leading to name acquisition and lead generation, and, ultimately, revenue generation.  

Essential Job Functions (*=Non-essential tasks):

  • Be a “brand evangelist” for OSV products and services to all audiences to create demand and awareness
  • Support the B2C name acquisition efforts in marketing by assisting in the development of “lead magnets” (Freemiums) deployed through marketing automation
  • Help drive online traffic through web and social media efforts, as well as offline tactics
  • Write copy for websites, ads for OSV products, trade ads, etc. as needed
  • Work with marketing team leaders, design, sales, customer satisfaction to develop internal and external marketing materials as needed
  • Manage marketing-driven social media channels
  • Act as in-house publicist to increase visibility and demand for OSV trade books, content and other consumer products by writing press releases, building relationships with key media pros, and online social networking
  • Perform PR functions for the B2C side of OSV’s business, building a media list for both the offertory and curriculum product lines, writing news releases and media alerts to increase visibility and drive demand
  • Track various campaigns, PR efforts, and social media to report on effectiveness
  • Manage marketing activities and campaigns to ensure projects are completed on-time while maintaining accurate budget, expense tracking and forecasting.
  • Maintain current customer messaging calendars and associated materials
  • Participate in ideation and brainstorming for B2C marketing campaigns

Requirements:

Experience:

  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience with consumer marketing, marketing communications, and/or journalism with successful results in managing multiple deadlines in fast-paced department
  • Previous proven experience using marketing systems such as Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, FormStack, CRM and others
  • Proficiency in content-driven marketing automation strategy and implementation.
  • InDesign, Photoshop, HTML knowledge a plus but not required
  • Previous proven computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and required   

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Journalism, related field, or education with equivalent experience is required

Working Environment:

  • Incumbent will be working in an office environment
  • Incumbent will be required to travel as they perform tasks at company events outside the office/building environment  
  • Incumbent will utilize the computer and phone for a large portion of their duties
