Job Description

De Mello-Stroud Spirituality Center
Executive Director

The individual in this position will be allowed to telecommute/work remotely

Background

Until his sudden death on June 2, 1987, Fr. Anthony de Mello, S.J. was the Director of the Sadhana Institute of Pastoral Counseling near Poona, India. Author of five best-selling books, renowned worldwide for his workshops, retreats, and prayer courses, he aimed simply to teach people HOW TO PRAY, how to WAKE UP AND LIVE.

J. Francis Stroud, S.J., a close colleague of Father Tony, served as Executive Director of The DeMello Spirituality Center from its founding in 1984 until his death in 2007. He lectured and conducted conferences on DeMello Spirituality throughout the United States and Europe. In 2011, the Center was renamed the DeMello-Stroud Spirituality Center.

The Center’s vision is to globally touch as many people as possible with the wisdom and teachings of Father Anthony de Mello. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Funding is now available to hire an Executive Director. There is no physical location for the center. Center assets are the de Mello Books, CD’s and other content. Current programs are retreats conducted by Board members.

We are now seeking a dynamic leader to join us as our Executive Director. The new Executive Director will have a chance to help shape and build the De Mello-Stroud Spirituality Center as we move into the next stage of our existence. The Executive Director will be responsible for setting direction, advancing the Center, and managing the organization. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
