The Laudato Si' Advocates Program is an internship that is co-administered by Creatio, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), and National Religious Partnership for the Environment (NRPE).
The mission of the Laudato Si’ Advocates Program is to raise up a generation of Catholic leaders who promote integral ecology through advocacy and witness. Each year, Laudato Si' Advocates engage in legislative advocacy for federal policies across party lines to cultivate a new political culture that is motivated by a desire to find common ground for the good of our common home.
Advocates will:
Receive on-the-job formation in Catholic Social Teaching and environmental policy
Learn how to engage in legislative advocacy
Publish opinion pieces and letters to the editor
Meet with their legislators to discuss important environmental issues
Design and implement a capstone Creative Advocacy Project
Internship Includes:
3-day pilgrimage experience
In-person summer orientation in Washington, D.C.
Monthly formation with opportunities for professional networking
Cohort-model collaboration with other Advocates
$300 monthly stipend
