Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Print Production Planner/Estimator position exists to ensure product manufacturing specifications and documentation to outside vendors and internal customers are properly prepared and delivered; ensure suitable vendors and costs are acquired and communicated; and ensure that proper and correct processes, and quality controls are provided. 

 

The Planner/Estimator is responsible for acquiring vendor quotes, negotiating terms, engineering and planning print production projects. Other key responsibilities include aggregating vendor reporting and using data to drive operational solutions. The Print Production Planner/Estimator works closely with the vendors, internal customers, and quality processes and will be part of a team that supports the production departments and works closely with company product stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior Print Planning, Buyer experience at a publishing company preferred.

3-5 years’ work experience functioning at an intermediate level.

Able to work in a teamwork driven deadline environment

Print vendor management experience.

Experience managing mail vendors.

Understanding of paper marketplace and experience interacting with paper sources.

Must possess analytical and mathematical ability.

Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills.

Strong Microsoft Office skills: Advanced experience with Excel. Knowledge of Hagen a plus.

Have strong project management and organization skills.

Post-high school education or equivalent business experience.

Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Must have clear verbal and written communication skills.

Employee must be able to use common sense to solve problems.

Attention to detail with quantitative and analytical skills that demonstrates the capacity to solve problems and enhance reporting.
