St. Patrick’s Parish, a friendly Catholic community of 850 families at the foot of the Chugach Mountains in Anchorage, Alaska, is looking for dynamic, qualified applicants for the position of Director of Catechetical Ministries. Successful applicants must be actively practicing their Catholic Faith, love children and young people, and have a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level. Master’s degree in Catholic Religious Education/Administration, Religious Studies, Pastoral Theology or related field is required; may be substituted with career experience in a related field. At least three years’ experience with “whole community catechesis” including elementary, middle and high school students, as well as parents and senior parish members. Must be able to thrive within a team environment with a demonstrated ability for the recruitment, training, motivation and recognition of others. Applicants must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as be adept at social media, multimedia, tech and presentation software and their use in ministry. Familiarity with youth culture and with the trends and issues important to children and young people is a plus. Should have excellent planning and organizing skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple programs with a variety of stakeholders.
