About Romero Academy at Resurrection.
Romero Academy at Resurrection is an independent Catholic elementary school located in Cincinnati, Ohio operated by Seton Education Partners. In 2019, Seton partnered with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Fund (CISE) to transition the existing Resurrection of Our Lord School to a new academic and governance model. In addition to investing in the students and facility, Romero Academy at Resurrection is committed to investing in its staff both academically and financially via weekly coaching meetings, frequent professional development, and competitive compensation. Inspired by the words of St. Oscar Romero, our students will “aspire not to have more, but to be more,” and develop the virtue, knowledge, and academic skills necessary to thrive in a selective college preparatory high school, college, and beyond. Teacher salaries are competitive with the local public school districts, starting at $42,000 per year.

As a national non-profit, Seton partners with (arch)dioceses and others across the country to implement innovative and sustainable models that bridge the best of Catholic education’s rich tradition of character formation and high academic achievement with new possibilities. The challenges are significant, to be sure, but with an entrepreneurial spirit that embraces innovation, much can and should be done for the benefit of thousands of children in America’s most underserved neighborhoods.
OUR MISSION
Nurturing the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
Seton Education Partners expands opportunities for parents in underserved communities to choose an academically excellent, character rich, and—for those who seek it—vibrantly Catholic education for their children.
Three things set Seton apart from other education organizations
We call these distinguishing features Seton’s “three uniques,” the drivers behind our success.
Our Catholic Identity Anchors Our Core Values
As a Catholic organization, our plans and actions are anchored in the Catholic Church and its cornerstone, Jesus Christ. Recognizing the beauty inherent in the Catholic tradition, we are faithful to and celebrate the Church’s teachings. We strive, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to bring ourselves and others closer to Jesus and His Church in everything we do. When making any critical decision, the most important question we ask is: “What is the right thing to do for our children, families, and Church?”
Declining enrollment and rising operating costs are the main causes for this extraordinary collapse of urban Catholic education—a character-building, Americanizing, opportunity-equalizing force.
Seton Education Partners is a national effort to strategically infuse creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, talented leadership, and public dollars to find a new way to nurture children in underserved communities—mind, body and spirit.
