Position: Motion Graphics Artist

FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime in compliance with state and federal regulations) 

Schedule: This full-time position will work out of the Augustine Institute home office in Greenwood Village, Colorado. 

Pay Range: $65,000-$90,000 annually*

Reporting to: Executive Producer

Position Summary 

The Augustine Institute is seeking a motion graphics artist to work alongside the Motion Graphic Director. We are looking for a person who is passionate about Motion and design. Someone who can work seamlessly as part of a team, contribute, has a meticulous eye, and strong communication skills. You will craft captivating thought-provoking motion graphics that enhance the storytelling and comprehension of themes that can be complex abstract theological concepts. You will be helping the audience come to a greater understanding, knowledge, and appreciation for God and his Church. You will encounter a wide range of aesthetics, so you must be versatile and exhibit great craftsmanship. It is very important that you understand various computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, , 3D software, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve to craft animated graphics and special effects. The work you will do will be an integral part of every stage in the creative process, from conceptualization to storyboards and editing. As such, you will work directly with the motion graphics director, the project director, post director, senior editor, and producer to fine tune the finished product. 

*Specific duties below may not be all-inclusive. 

• Design and produce 2D/3D motion graphics for live streaming programs and Catholic faith formation videos for academic and parish programs. 
• Contribute to dynamic storytelling with innovative visuals and text. 
• Present fresh and creative ideas, while working cohesively as part of the department team. 
• Lay out assembly cuts, craft entertaining stories, collaborate with the team and deliver a final cut.
• Ensure that projects meet technical delivery standards.
• Maintain our Post-production workflow and file management/backup/archival practices for post-production.
• Execute basic sound treatment and color correction for projects
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 3+ years of professional experience in audio recording and editing. 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

• Expert skills in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and DaVinci
• Proficient in tracking and compositing in Adobe After Effects.
• Proficient in Element 3D, Blender, and/or cinema 4D or other 3D programs
• Experience in project management software like Slack or Monday.
• Proficient in 2D/3D character animations (preferred not required).
• Ability to work proficiently on Mac or PC Platforms.
• Exceptional knowledge of typology, design, and animation principles. 
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. 
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
