Position: Fundraising Database and Operations Manager

FLSA: Exempt Salary (not eligible for overtime)

Pay Range: $65,000-80,000 annually*

Schedule & Location: This full-time position preferably works from the Augustine Institute home office in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Remote work arrangements will be considered.

Position Summary

The Augustine Institute (AI) is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to lead our Fundraising Database and Operations as part of the Development Team.  This critical role will manage the Development team’s data integrity, reporting, and analysis in Salesforce and integrated platforms.  The work supports fundraising from all sources, including individuals, monthly giving society members, foundations, and others.  The role is meant to use analytics and provide compelling information and tools for fundraisers to use to improve their fundraising results.  The manager will work directly with the Senior Vice President of Development, and also collaboratively with individual fundraisers; the leader of prospect management; teammates serving our donor-giving societies; and colleagues in Finance & Accounting, Marketing, and the President’s Office.

Specific duties are listed below but may not be all-inclusive.

  • Manage the Institute’s day-to-day fundraising operations within Salesforce, including database performance; updates, and efficiencies; user access and roles; constituent records and gift records; reporting procedures; all gift entry and acknowledgment procedures with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Oversee and monitor data entry and moves management processes within Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Create reports and dashboards to support fundraising and fundraisers (e.g. proposal pipelines, progress to goals, fundraiser productivity, giving analyses, revenue comparison, portfolio tracking).
  • Prepare regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly fundraising performance reports for internal and external constituents, including Development management, the President’s Office, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Work directly with Finance & Accounting colleagues to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of gift receipt input to the database; track and report progress to fundraising goals; and contribute to monthly reconciliation between Development and Finance & Accounting.
  • Produce reports and lists for mailings, appeals, event invitations, and email communications.
  • Leads process of preparing and distributing year-end tax, compliance, and other reports to individual donors.
  • Ensure integration of research tools with Salesforce.
  • Serve as the Development Department expert for Salesforce and other platforms that integrate with Salesforce, including but not limited to Stripe, Donorbox, Elevate, iWave, and Windfall.
  • Provide instruction and training to Development and other Institute staff on donor database functionality, as well as new features and new systems relevant to fundraising.
  • In partnership with prospect management, provide wealth screening and background research on existing and prospective donors.

  • Comfortable in a performance-driven, transparent, accountable culture where goal achievement is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a degree in non-profit management or business, is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in development and fundraising and / or Sales Operations.
  • Documented history of experience with fundraising-centric CRMs and related systems, with Salesforce certifications, preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel for data analysis and Microsoft Powerpoint for presentation.
  • Ability to create compelling visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Experience with wealth screening and donor research services and their integration with Salesforce.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, typing and use of office equipment, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
