Job Description

Position: Independent Contractor - UX/Web Developer

Working with: Chief Information Officer - Technology Team

Contractor Need Summary

The Augustine Institute is seeking an Independent Contractor with expertise in UX and Web Developer to design and build great digital experiences for our supporters.  Our Technology team delivers industry-leading solutions to help Catholics understand, live, and share their faith in engaging and enduring ways.

You will support a wide variety of web properties – from insightful blogs and engaging marketing landing pages to streamlined on-boarding and audio/video engagement.  If you love developing rich web pages that will help us grow and serve our mission, this may be a great contract assignment for you!

Specific duties are listed below but may not be all-inclusive.

  • Build, test, and optimize web pages for various business needs.
  • Support multiple web properties throughout their development lifecycle.
  • Understand business objectives and deliver effective solutions.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders and team members.
  • Design and manage UX flows and experiments.
  • Code and script applications.
  • Perform site audits on a regular basis.
  • Enable smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, design, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of previous professional experience working in web development, UI/UX, or related field.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional front-end development skills, using HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and strategically to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency with web development tools and frameworks (Webflow, WordPress).
  • Ability to design and translate designs into code using tools like Figma and Sketch.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms is preferred (BigCommerce).
  • Familiarity with learning management systems platforms is preferred.
