Job Description

Candidates must be practicing Roman Catholics, committed to the mission of Catholic education who possess:

New York State certification in School Administration and Supervision or the equivalent.

A master’s degree conferred by a college or university registered by the New York State Board of Regents or accredited by an appropriate regional accrediting agency.

An Initial Certificate of Faith Formation or be eligible to begin such certification upon employment.

A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in a Catholic, private or public school setting.

Show proof of authorization to work in the United States.

Job Description (Summary Level):

The principal as spiritual and academic leader collaborates with all stakeholders to develop, articulate, and implement the mission of the school fostering a strong Catholic identity.

As the school leader, the principal will:

Develop, advocate, and enact a shared mission and vision which fosters a high-quality education, academic success and the well-being of each student.

Collaborate with parish clergy and academy and/or parish school faculty to foster a strong Catholic identity through the Academy’s mission.

Collaborate with the board of trustees and/or Parish School Pastor, specifically with the board chair/ Pastor to continually improve the educational experiences of the students and work environment of the faculty.

Strive for equity of educational opportunity and culturally responsive practices to promote each student’s academic success and well-being.

The assessment to promote each student’s academic success and well-being.

Act as an agent of continuous improvement to promote the Academy’s success and that of each student in our care.
