POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Digital Marketing creates and executes digital marketing strategies across multiple platforms to build brand awareness, recruit students, and engage benefactors by utilizing paid, earned, and organic media. The DDM directs all University social accounts, sets the strategy, and oversees daily operations of content creation and delivery across five platforms (combined 230,000+ followers) to ensure integrated messaging and consistent voice. The DDM designs and implements marketing plans that utilize organic and paid media to launch new academic programs and institutes, and manages the budget for undergraduate and graduate advertising. The DDM directs email marketing strategy to engage existing audience and acquire new audiences. The DDM also acts as a resource for campus partners regarding digital engagement, social media, and metrics for reporting and serves as a subject matter expert regarding the university’s digital marketing presence by sharing best practices on current trends in digital marketing. The DDM sets and oversees compliance with brand standards and social media policy across campus.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Creates and executes all digital marketing campaigns (paid and earned media) for Admissions, Advancement, and other departments across campus using Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, LinkedIn ads, and traditional media as necessary.

2.    Oversees all University social media platforms, and manages the day to day operations from content creation to delivery and analysis for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

3.    Manages advertising budget for undergraduate and graduate (on-ground and online) enrollment, which includes the ongoing launch of new academic programs.

4.    Leads the Digital Marketing Team, which includes colleagues from web, email, social media, writing, and project management who meet weekly to brainstorm, strategize, plan, and deliver high engaging digital platforms customized for Franciscan University Catholic audiences.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         2 to 4 years of experience managing multiple social media platforms with large public followings and writing in an institutional voice

·         2 to 4 years of experience as a digital marketing subject matter expert; demonstrated leadership in digital marketing efforts

·         2 to 4 years of experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced marketing office environment

·         2 to 4 years of experience as a data enthusiast, strategist, and analytical thinker

·         Potential past job titles held – Digital Marketing Manager, Digital Strategist, Director of Web Marketing, Internet Marketing Specialist

Education

·         Bachelor degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Marketing Communications,, Business, or related field

·         Digital Marketing Certification(s) a plus

 

Technical Skills

·         Proficient with MailChimp, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, SEM

·         Exceptional written and oral communication skills

·         Crisis communication skills/experience on social media

·         Knowledge of traditional media and emerging technologies

·         Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, deadline driven

·         Skills in market research, data collection, and data analysis, social media analytics
