Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., some nights and weekends

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mid-Level Gift Officer will be a key member of Franciscan’s Advancement team. The focus of this position is to develop and manage a portfolio of mid-level ($1,000 to $5,000) donors with potential for leadership level ($10,000) giving, by initiating, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with individuals, couples, and families who partner financially with Franciscan. The individual is responsible for researching donors, broad donor communications, and developing and executing fundraising strategies to retain and upgrade donors and help maximize their potential by strengthening their relationship with the University.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage a portfolio of 400-600 mid-level donors ($1,000-$5,000) to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters, using effective segmentation and personalization strategies.

·         Execute strategy through phone calls, email, mail communication, and face-to-face visits with select donors.

·         Develop and test effective strategies to acquire new mid-level members, retain current members, upgrade contributions, and to “graduate” mid-level donors to leadership giving staff when appropriate.

·         Work within the database to track communication, update call notes and other donor information, and assist in analyzing data to inform and prioritize individuals and strategies.

·         Participate strategically in the planning and execution of on and off-campus events that have strong impact on mid-level donors.

·         Assist in cultivation and stewardship of selected leadership giving donors upon request of management and senior leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         2-4 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience with a proven track record of success

·         Excellent active listening, persuasion and negotiation skills

Educational/Credentials

·         A Bachelor’s degree is required

 

Technical Skills

·         Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software systems is helpful

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

 

Workplace Factors

·         Minimal travel may be required from time to time

·         Some evenings and weekends are required, driven by events and benefactor availability
