Title: Multicultural Ministry Director (Full-time/Exempt)
Salary Range: Pay Grade E-7 $44,000 - $47,000
Education: Bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or other community service area.
Experience: Five years experience in Hispanic Ministry or multicultural office. Also have at least three (3) years experience with administrative work requiring organizational skills and proficiency in computer software and other office applications.

The Cultural Ministries Office coordinates activities and programs to support parishes, entities, and ministries in the Diocese of Shreveport in their efforts to welcome, accompany, and include all God’s People as they fully participate in the faith, life, and ministry of the Church.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience in pastoral ministry at the parish or diocesan level with focus on intercultural ministry is preferred.
A professed and practicing Catholic who can articulate the teachings of the Church and is a zealous disciple of Jesus.
Life-long learner with a passion for diverse cultures and traditions.
Relationship-builder who acts with wisdom and humility and demonstrates a sensibility or respect for various ethnicities/cultures.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and Spanish.

Demonstrated skills in organizing and supervising people in formation and administration in a multi-cultural setting.
Ability to work independently and highly self-motivated.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Position requires comprehensive analytical skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff members, clergy, parishes as well as other organizations.
Travel out of town and out of state is required occasionally for meetings, retreats, conferences, and other Church related events as well as weekend events and meetings.
Confidential information, whether oral, written, or electronic should be maintained in a manner that ensures its confidentiality and respect for those it might involve.
