The Cathedral of St. Thomas More School is a parochial Pre-K through eight two-track school with enrollment of 470 students, in Arlington, VA. As a ministry of the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, we are seeking a dynamic and practicing Catholic leader, who embraces our mission to form committed, dedicated, disciplined, and responsible Catholic students in partnership with our parents and faculty. Our principal should embrace the primary role of a Catholic school to evangelize our families and the broader culture through faithfulness, goodness, and beauty of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our principal must be an academic leader well versed in the best and most current educational practices, knowledgeable about the teachings of the Church, willing to assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our school, as well as foster the spiritual and human growth of our faculty and staff. Candidates must demonstrate proven educational, administrative, financial, development and leadership skills. Our principal will work under the direction of the Rector in a collaborative manner to craft the school’s vision with creativity as part of a team including the faculty, staff, families, and the wider parish community.
A minimum of five years teaching experience in a Catholic school is required. Applicants must have a master’s degree in educational administration or education and hold appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision Certificate and Diocesan Religious Certification (or to be eligible to obtain these certifications within three years of hire). The candidate must have a demonstrated capacity for and a proven record of achievement in education administration and school leadership.
