HIRING 3 LEGAL INTERNS FOR SUMMER 2023!

Qualified candidates will possess high levels of proficiency in related coursework, paid or unpaid positions, and other leadership roles. Interns should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, self-motivated environment.

Rising 2Ls and 3Ls are invited to apply for legal intern positions based in our Chicago, IL office. Legal interns have the unique opportunity to learn while working alongside some of the most renowned and well-respected attorneys in First Amendment law. Projects may include conducting in-depth research, writing memos, drafting letters and motions, editing briefs, handling prospective client intakes, and assisting attorneys with court preparation. Many cases at the Thomas More Society focus on a variety of First Amendment issues.

Legal interns must be able to adapt to a demanding, fast-paced work environment, show initiative and creativity in responding to complex legal questions, and work cohesively within a team. Ideal applicants are able to demonstrate exceptional writing, researching, and communication skills, balance multiple projects, appreciate and support TMS's mission, and display interest in the pro-life movement.

Please include your name on each of the documents submitted. Cover letters must answer why the applicant is applying to the Thomas More Society. Writing samples must include an introduction that gives a short summary of what the sample was written for, whether there were any length or style restrictions on the assignment, whether it incorporates edits from a professor or supervisor, and a statement of permission to use the piece as a sample if it was drafted for a former client or a judge. Writing samples should be no more than 5 pages, not inclusive of the introduction required.
