Job Description

Summary:

 

Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Clovis, CA is seeking a Youth Minister on fire for the Gospel to oversee the spiritual development of the youth within our Catholic parish community. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pastor, other parish staff, and volunteers to plan and implement programs and activities that promote the Catholic faith and encourage the youth to live out their faith in their daily lives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program for the parish, including faith formation classes, retreats, social events, service projects, and other activities.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with youth ministry activities and events.

  • Foster positive relationships with parents, youth, and other parishioners.

  • Develop and maintain a safe environment for youth activities and ensure compliance with all diocesan policies and guidelines.

  • Work collaboratively with other parish ministries and organizations to promote youth participation and engagement.

  • Coordinate youth participation in diocesan and regional events, including retreats, conferences, and service projects.

  • Plan and facilitate regular meetings with youth and their families to provide ongoing faith formation and support.

  • Develop and oversee a budget for youth ministry activities and manage expenditures in a responsible manner.

  • Attend regular staff meetings and collaborate with other parish staff members to support the overall mission of the parish.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge of best practices in youth ministry.





Qualifications:

 

  • Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the Catholic faith.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related field preferred.

  • Experience in youth ministry, teaching, or related field preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Familiarity with Catholic social teaching and ability to integrate it into youth ministry activities.

  • Understanding and adherence to diocesan policies and guidelines.



This position may be part-time or full-time depending on the needs of the parish. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and diocesan guidelines.
