Accounting & Finance Intern Job Description 

Creatio is offering a 3-6-month internship designed to gain insight into practical, non-profit related experience with an emphasis on accounting and finance. As a junior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to learn and work on projects with a goal of guiding all people to encounter the beauty of creation and the Creator. The internship is unpaid but may include a complimentary Experience sponsored by Creatio.

Who We Are: Creatio is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit Catholic organization in the state of Colorado, and our mission is to guide all people to encounter the beauty of creation and the Creator through service to the poor, mission trips, outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship.


What Our Organization Does: Creatio works to promote this mission of reconciling human persons with the environment through service to the poor, mission trips, outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship.  Through these experiences, we work to create an environment of encounter – encounter with God, with ourselves, with others, and with creation. Creatio members are volunteers, professionals, and friends working to address environmental and human issues on a deeper level.  Our goal is to facilitate an active transformation of ourselves and others, as well as the environment.

Location: Remote or Denver, CO     Start date: As soon as possible   Time commitment: 3-6 months with option to extend


  • Process invoices and payments
  • Process bank deposits, online donations and trip payments
  • Categorizing funds coming in and going out to their appropriate accounting buckets
  • Reconcile monthly bank account with financial accounting system (Quickbooks)
  • Maintain an accurate filing and record keeping/reporting system for all financial matters
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements & other financial reports
  • Assist in processing revenue pledges
  • Other supportive tasks, as assigned by the Executive Director or M&A Director
  • Run reports and enter data using Creatio’s donor management platform (Kindful)


Qualified Candidates will possess: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in a program in which student will attain a minimum of an Associate's degree in accounting or related field
  • Candidates pursuing/exploring careers in accounting or the non-profit sector will be given preference
  • A good understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, self-motivation & time management abilities
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online, Kindful or similar accounting/donor management software a plus
  • Ability to provide professional or academic references and agree to a background check
