The Regional Major Gifts Officer (externally known as a Regional Representative) stewards and solicits major donors assigned to them in California and the Western portion of the United States. This person secures funding for the mission of SOAR! and facilitates their own meetings with donors and arranges meetings including the President of SOAR! and major donors where and when appropriate.
This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week. The scheduling of time is left to the discretion of the Regional Major Gifts Officer in consultation with the Director of Development.
Responsibilities:
1. Visit prospects in person for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
2. Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-80 major/planned gift prospects and donors.
3. Work in collaboration with other Regional Major Gifts Officers and Director of Development to develop and refine individualized strategies and follow-up plans for each donor.
4. Participate in monthly strategy sessions with SOAR! fundraising staff.
5. Prepare and submit timely reports through the donor database that accurately reflect caseload activity and performance.
6. Assist SOAR! staff in planning regional receptions and annual events as needed.
Bachelor’s degree required; 7-10 years of experience in fundraising for Catholic or faith-based organizations; proven track record of relationship building, successful solicitation, closing, and stewarding major/planned gifts; comfortable with extensive domestic travel; mission-focused; knowledge and appreciation of women and men in consecrated life. Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus.
