Media Production Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Media Production Specialist is responsible for collaboration in conceptualizing, planning, shooting, and editing of professional quality videos for the various departmental needs of the college. Working in a fast-paced environment, this position will focus on production of high-impact videos that promote awareness and a positive perception of Benedictine College. Therefore, a passion for telling stories of community, faith, and scholarship is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain correct and consistent usage of the Benedictine College brand and marketing standards
• Complete projects on time according to production schedule
• Attend touchpoint meetings with various departments as needed 
• Assist Media Production Coordinator in the following fields:  

o Pre-Production

• Creative approach to upcoming projects
• Preparation and maintenance of needed equipment 
• Set design
• Location scouting and clearance
• Coordination of crew and talent

o Production

• Operation of digital cinema cameras
• Field and studio audio recording
• Set up and transportation of lighting equipment

o Post-Production

• Data transfer, backup, and organization
• Editing multiple video drafts in Adobe Premiere
• Updating progress in project management software
• Apply editing revisions from Media Production Coordinator
• Create transcriptions and captions using transcription software

o Publication

• Upload and scheduling publication for videos across multiple platforms
• Writing video descriptions
• Tracking video performance across multiple platforms

REQUIREMENTS

· Strong project management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines

· Exceptional written and verbal communication

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in communication, journalism, or related field

Experience

· Proficient with digital cinema cameras and lenses

· Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro

· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
