St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Columbus, IN is seeking a full-time Adult Faith Formation Coordinator / Pastoral Associate. St. Bartholomew has a very successful, well established Adult Faith Formation program. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic Pastoral Team that workscollaboratively to provide Christ centered programs for adult parishioners of all ages.
The responsibilities of Adult Faith Formation will be designing, developing, and implementing programs to aid the spiritual growth of adult parishioners in the St. Bartholomew community. Adult Faith Formation fosters discipleship by providing, as stated by the USCCB, "a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice—a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life.” The Pastoral Associate focuses on assisting with, and providing for, the pastoral care of parishioners in time of need., with direction and cooperation of the parish Pastor. The Pastoral Associate also serves to comfort and help those who are grieving, in need of pastoral support, or struggling with medical, financial, or spiritual hardships. The Pastoral Associate will collaborate with the Pastor and other pastoral staff members to create disciples who are engaged in their faith and support the community at large.
Candidates should possess good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a firm knowledgeable of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Candidates must be a fully initiated, practicing Roman Catholic who is living a life that is in harmony with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Bilingual is preferred.
