Job Description

Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled IT Administrator to join our team, responsible for providing local support to users and overseeing the management of outside IT service providers. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a variety of IT-related issues. This role requires a proactive and customer-focused individual who can ensure the smooth operation of our local IT environment. 

Responsibilities:

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, and other IT peripherals.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to address escalated issues and implement solutions.

Service Provider Management:

  • Liaise with external IT service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of service providers against established SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
  • Manage relationships with vendors and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Collaborate with procurement to negotiate contracts and service level terms.

Network and Infrastructure:

  • Assist in the management and maintenance of local networks and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with the IT team to implement changes and upgrades as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the security and integrity of local IT systems.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create and update documentation for IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices.
  • Ensure that documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to the team.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and address vulnerabilities.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with IT teams across different locations to share best practices and ensure consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users, management, and external service providers.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking technologies.
  • Experience managing relationships with external IT service providers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are a plus.
