Job Description

Position: Campus Support Specialist

FLSA: Non-Exempt/Hourly (eligible for overtime in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations)

Pay Range: $21.00-$25.00/hour*

Schedule: Full-Time

Location: On-site – Florissant, MO 

Reporting to: Campus Operations Manager

Position Summary

Staff members in campus support positions are integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the campus and providing assistance to students, faculty, staff, and guests. These team members are expected to be reliable, efficient, and proactive, showing a strong commitment to serving the needs of the campus community. They play a critical role in supporting the overall mission and goals of the Augustine Institute, a Catholic apostolate dedicated to forming disciples in Christ. Staff members contribute to a positive and inclusive campus environment for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner, adhering to the service excellence method of hospitality.
  • Assist with data entry, process paperwork, and complete administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare materials and resources for classes, meetings, and events as needed and provide basic technical support for classroom and office equipment.
  • Assist with the coordination of campus programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Maintain an elevated level of customer service and professionalism at all times, making guests feel at home and connected with attentive hospitality.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with a broad range of people to accomplish assigned tasks or projects.
  • Provide logistical support across the campus, including guest services, front gate operations, shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure proper security measures are followed in case of emergencies and participate in emergency response drills and procedures, acting as a point of contact for safety and emergency situations.
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of campus facilities, ensuring all areas are presentable and functional.
  • Track and manage inventory of office supplies, classroom materials, and event equipment.
  • Provide tours and orientation sessions for new students, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate records of campus activities, events, and incidents.
  • Assist in coordinating transportation/parking for campus events and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in campus domain, conference center, and/or security.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Obtain CPR certification within six months of hire.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of safety and security protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campus community members.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and issue clear, concise instructions to students, employees, visitors, and guests.
  • Ability to establish and follow appropriate schedules to ensure a lasting experience for all invitees of the Augustine Institute.

Physical Demands:

  • Perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Engage in heavy lifting, exerting up to twenty-five pounds of force frequently and up to ten pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Possess visual and fine/gross motor skills enabling the safe operation of a variety of hand and shop tools, office equipment, in normal as well as hazardous weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a variety of environments, from climate-controlled offices to outdoor settings, including adverse weather conditions.
