The Director of Mission Advancement serves in a key leadership role and is an active participant in Catholic Charities Washtenaw strategic planning and decision-making processes. This position is responsible for the implementation, execution, and oversight of fundraising and development activities as well as the enhancement of and integration of CCW’s mission and Catholic identity into all aspects of the organization. (S)he will contribute to CCW’s goal of increasing CCW’s visibility and resources as an area leader in high quality, mission-oriented human services, working with the President and CEO to ensure that CCW staff, volunteers, and partners understand and are inspired and motivated by CCW’s Mission.
Relevant education or credentials strongly preferred in Philanthropy, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or similar field. Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or equivalent professional/ministerial experience required.
Experience includes but is not limited to:
● Minimum five years of successful philanthropy and community relations with significant experience in donor relationships, communications, community relations, grant writing, securing major gifts, and planned giving, preferably in a faith-based nonprofit or parish
● Minimum of two years’ experience supervising staff
● Experience with sharing faith with a diverse population, balancing Catholic identity with inclusivity
● Minimum of three years developing and managing program budgets
Must have a passion for and understanding of the Roman Catholic Faith, including familiarity with liturgy and sacraments and a personal enthusiasm for and commitment to philanthropy.
