Role Description of Essential Expectations and Core Competencies
SUMMARY
The Development Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for all development, advancement and fundraising activities, correspondence, and special projects.
ESSENTIAL EXPECTATIONS
- Full agreement with Community Pregnancy Clinics, Inc. (CPCI) governing documents and policies, particularly as to CPCI’s philosophy and principals expressed therein.
- Overtly support, articulate, and act in accordance with CPCI’s mission, vision, and values.
- Follow all guidelines in CPCI’s Employee Handbook and Mission Statement.
- Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, and professional courtesy.
- Work in partnership with the CEO, Director of Operations, Board of Directors, and all personnel of CPCI as necessary.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all constituencies.
- Honor the confidentially of all communications as necessary.
CORE COMPETENCIES/BENCHMARKS
- Demonstrate ability to build a culture of philanthropy with in CPCI and to enthusiastically and successful engage in one-on-one solicitations and on-going donor stewardship
- Reach the agreed upon number of face-to-face visits with current and new donors
- Effectively coordinate the team to reach the budgeted amount of fundraising revenue for the year
- Effectively manage the annual donor communications plan to build a consistent brand and to develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders
- Maintain segmented donor lists and support the overall development and maintenance of CRM (Bloomerang)
- Effectively oversee and maintain records of contributions, ensuring security and quality controls.
- Generate queries, reports, and other collection criteria as needed
- Effectively manage staff responsible for gift management processing
- Research public, corporate, and private grant sources to identify other funding.
- Refer all donor complaints/issues to CEO for resolution of problems.

- - Continued development and support of new donor base in Sarasota area
- - Work to increase number of monthly donors

- - Continued development and support of new donor base in Gainesville area
- - Work to increase number of monthly donors
- - Help identify and meet with major donors
- Effectively oversee and managed the annual Your Community For Life Event
- Effectively oversee and managed the annual Century Club Event
- Effectively oversee and managed the annual Sarasota Community For Life Event
- Work with Outreach Coordinators to fulfill community outreach events – churches, homes, etc.
- Effectively cultivate and acquire new and potential partners
- Effectively develop and maintain overall communications strategy
- - Emails to supporters
- - Social Media – Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram
- - Newsletters, interviews, articles, and press releases
- Effectively monitor the annual budget for the Advancement/Development team to ensure that the department maintains fiscal responsibility throughout fundraising initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to board and staff.
