Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

            We are looking for a full-time Joomla administrator/web developer with extensive information technology (IT) experience in system and server administration as well as in Joomla web design and security maintenance. Preferred physical location is in the state of Colorado. We seek someone who places a priority on supporting our ministry of building Christ-centered marriages and families. The goal of this position is to maintain our current Joomla environment while helping us enable future business growth requirements through the use of technology.

OBJECTIVE: Manage and maintain the web-based operations supporting our ministry, and our for-profit and non-profit business lines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as a Joomla super administrator and designer, working with Joomla extensions, components, plugins, etc. including HikaShop and ActiveHelper’s LiveChat, integrating them into a working and efficient design.
  2. Defend against cybersecurity threats to Joomla, optimizing protection of self-hosted websites and servers.
  3. Serve as website administrator and manager performing operations and maintenance functions to include Systems Analysis, Systems Design, Systems Implementation, Systems Maintenance, Systems Integration, Systems Quality Control, and Systems Backup.
  4. Serve as administrator for Linux web hosting packages; user account management.
  5. Develop and maintain PHP applications on hosted webservers.
  6. Administer and manage MySQL databases running on Linux servers.
  7. Actively use HTML, CSS and JavaScript in the maintenance of existing web sites.
  8. Manage search engine optimization (SEO) for websites with experience using Google Webmaster Tools.
  9. Minor editing of website graphics using Photoshop for website updates.
  10. User account management for cloud-based applications including Zoho Mail, TeamUp, Slack, LastPass, and Box.com.
  11. System administration of self-hosted web applications to include, iDevAffiliate and SuiteCRM; integration of learning management systems with emphasis on Moodle.
  12. Evaluate and oversee all technology operations, providing proactive advice to management for continued growth enabled by technology.
  13. Establish IT policies and document existing/future system architectures to support the needs of the ministry.
  14. Efficiently and effectively purchase, maintain and inventory IT equipment, software, and licenses.
  15. Serve as cybersecurity manager for our e-commerce platforms to include installing SSL certificates and assisting with the renewal of payment card industry (PCI) compliance requirements, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-7 years of successful, proven experience with Joomla web design and administration.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas to non-technical customers.
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies.
  • Previous success in working collaboratively with staff to achieve goals.
  • Adhere to our company policies, and procedures demonstrating our core values, and professional/ethical behavior at all times.
  • Strong communication skills; written plus excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail and deadline oriented.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree and of 3 years experience in technology administration.
 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc. and strong interpersonal and organization skills/abilities. Experience with Learning Management Systems, especially Moodle, is a plus.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Full-time position
  • Commensurate with experience, expertise and qualifications

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   

  • IT certification(s) preferred (ITIL, CISSP, A+, etc).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

TRAVEL and LOCATION:

Travel required is estimated to be up to 10% by car.   Location of Headquarters is Brighton, CO.   Preferred work from home location can be either Colorado Springs or Denver, CO.
