Michelle Vardaman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in opera and a minor in piano pedagogy and accompaniment from Wichita State University in May 1995. She then received certification for Italian and Opera History from The Istituto Europo in Florence, Italy. Mrs. Vardaman received her Master’s in Vocal Education from WSU in December 2012. Besides teaching voice at Butler County Community College, Michelle has been privately teaching piano, voice, and theatrical coaching for the last 20 years in the Wichita/Andover area. Mrs. Vardaman is the Children’s Choir Coordinator and Children’s Theatre Director for Countryside Christian Church. Michelle Vardaman is also the Music Director for the Wichita Children’s Theatre & Dance Centers’ Main stage productions and for the Heather Muller Black Box. She has also been the assistant director for the Wichita Choral Society, and the director of the Wichita Choral Society Allegro Group. Michelle has performed with Opera Kansas, Cowtown Empire House, Scottish Rite Signature Theatre, WSU Opera Theatre, and has been a featured soloist for many other special events and charitable organizations. She has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and performance awards throughout her career.
