Re: Possible employment opportunities
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As I pass the 25-year mark at NYC Department of Parks and Recreation as the Director of the Buildings Construction Unit, I saw your employment opportunity and determined that your employment needs may coincide with the commencement of a new career in project management.
I have managed a wide variety of construction work over the years including: new building construction, building renovations, restoration work and retrofit of equipment in historic houses. Always working with interested stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome for all, including building department certifications, Public Design Commission(PDC) and Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) approval. I have managed a large amount of environmental remediation projects involving: lead, asbestos and contaminated soils which are typical of older properties.
In addition to managing the construction, I continue to mix the concrete, pull the wire, or repair the equipment from time-to-time myself.
I am confident that I can adapt my experience and skills to your requirements and offer you the leadership and experience you are looking for. Feel free to e-mail me or call me on my cell to arrange an interview.
Thank you in advance for your time.
As the Director my primary responsibility is to oversee the implementation and execution of the agency’s capital projects building construction program; currently consisting of 25 employees and an additional 18 consultant employees managing approximately 65 construction projects totaling approximately $140,000,000. This to include: demolition of buildings, construction new buildings, renovation of existing buildings, life-safety systems, reconstruction and replacement of retaining walls and sea walls, removal and replacement of agency electrical and mechanical, fire alarm infrastructure, structural stabilization and restoration of historic houses.
Currently I am looking to step back somewhat in order to get a little closer to the actual construction work.
