Personal Summary

My name is Lindsey Garcia, I am a part time professional Public Safety Dispatcher for Long Beach and have been for the last 5 years. Previously I have experience in hospitality and customer service with such companies as Disney Vacation Club, Hyatt Regency, Marriott Vacation Club, etc. I have very strong skills in typing, customer service, communication, leadership and training, computer skills with both Mac and Windows and associated software. I am a fast learner, I take constructive criticism seriously and I have a strong work ethic so as to be the best employee I can be as a reflection of my faith. I also have a side business as a Bookkeeper with my own firm The Little Bookkeepers of Orange.

Currently, I work 3 days a week (10-12 hour shifts) as a police dispatcher and watch my son the other 4 days of the week. I am looking to replace my work as a police dispatcher and open to full-time and part time work, but due to having my son 4 days a week I am looking for a role that has some flexibility in hours/scheduling (remote work preferred but open to work in person). 

I have current references from my work as a Police Dispatcher and plenty of previous coworkers that can attest to my character, work ethic and candidacy, including letters from customers. I also went through an extremely rigorous screening process for the role of police dispatch which included a polygraph, private investigator following up on all previous employers and schools, etc. All this to the end of restating my candidacy, my eagerness to find work that directly relates to my faith and gives me the opportunity to further engage in a community of brothers and sisters in Christ.

I am working currently part time as a police dispatcher where I answer routine non emergency and emergency calls, screening calls during peak hours and collaborating with surrounding agencies. I also work with police officers dispatching to emergency and non emergency calls, processing sensitive information for officer safety and providing assistance in the form of paramedic requests, towing services, public works etc. This role has developed my strong skills in telecommunications, handling a high volume of calls under high stress circumstances, and handling difficult conversations with citizens with tact, compassion and authenticity.
