Greetings! I've spent most of my adult life in a religious community, and am now seeking a form of employment outside the convent that will allow me to place my skills with grammar, syntax, and style at the service of the Gospel. The atypical context in which I acquired my competence as an editor allowed me to approach manuscript evaluation and revision as part of a “vocation” at the service of the truth. I am a quick and willing learner. All my life I’ve been employed assisting others to learn or to express themselves clearly, from helping fellow students in grammar school to copy and line editing dissertations, retreats, and university lectures at the graduate level.
Work Experience
· Collaborated with authors of graduate-level academic texts to facilitate clarity of thought and expression.
· Edited, proofread, and evaluated final copy based on knowledge of target audience and established internal and external style guides.
· Compiled lists of common usage and errors to improve consistency in style.
· Translated academic and administrative texts from and into French.
