Full time Business Development Executive Finance Strategy-Planning

Personal Summary

I believe my energy finance and corporate strategy experience will make me a valuable addition to any team.  My career has been in business development and finance across the energy and telecommunication industries.  Through these opportunities I gained expertise in value creation, project development, strategy formation and implementation, due diligence, risk analysis and mitigation, capital structuring, and financial analysis, among others.

My career in energy started with Enron in two power project development groups evaluating the operating and maintenance costs of Enron’s power stations. This required multiple plant trips, foreign and domestic, to discuss O&M issues with plant personnel.  I was also on a development team pursuing energy infrastructure projects in Mexico.  My final role at Enron was as an underwriter in a structured finance group that placed equity, debt, and mezzanine investments in energy companies.   After Enron, I joined CoBank’s project finance team where I underwrote the commitments on six natural gas fired power projects and two natural gas pipeline projects.

I left CoBank in 2002 to create a consulting company providing capital advisory services to firms involved in power generation and oil and gas.  My work included natural gas price volatility modeling, financial reviews of a client bank’s energy portfolio, new business development, budgeting, FP&A, asset valuation, complex financial modeling, capital formation, and investor relations.  As a consultant, I served as the Director of Investor Relations and FP&A for Venoco, Inc. during the company’s $200 million IPO in 2006.  Other services include industry research, extensive Excel modeling, asset divestitures, M&A, and creating reports and presentations.

In 2007, I joined SFC Energy Partners, a $1 billion private equity E&P fund, as VP of Finance.  During my five years with the fund, I screened all prospective investments in addition to my business development efforts.  I also provided the limited partners operational and technical information on the fund’s investment portfolio.

Regarding my personal qualities, I am highly ethical and I try to act with the utmost integrity and I expect the same from others, but I acknowledge that we are not perfect human beings.  I believe in performing my work in a well-organized and focused manner.  With respect to colleagues, I treat everyone with dignity and I ensure that every team member knows their value and receives positive encouragement.  I have been a mentor to younger professionals to help them advance and to provide them with growth opportunities.  As a team leader, I communicate with such young professionals to allow them to pursue roles and tasks of interest to them.
