Having attained a B.A. in Theology with a Religious Education Concentration and a Pontifical License (S.T.L.) in Spirituality, my hope is to help lay Catholics in the parish or educational setting to draw nearer to Christ and to understand the need to plumb the depths of the Sacred Mysteries of the Holy Catholic Faith.
Instruct adult lay Catholics in: 1st year of Curriculum on Pentatuech and Historical Books of the Old Testament; 2nd year of curriculum on the Synoptic Gospels and Letters of St. Paul, and 3rd year of curriculum on “The Prophets, Tobit, Judith & Esther.” Administer policies of the CBS. Provide grades towards completion of four-year course of Studies.
Organize & implement Religious Education programs for both parish children, pre-K-8, in public schools and for adults to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Faith. Plan and utilize talks, classes, movies, and discussion groups to encourage adult parishioners to take ownership of their Catholic Faith, in order to assent to and implement Catholic teaching in their personal lives. Train, guide and provide materials for catechists in Parish Religious Education program. Compose and refine an RCIA process that effectively communicates the Catholic Faith to both adults and children. Manage and collaborate with the Part-time Coordinator of Religious Education on implementing the above. Effectively and efficiently implement directives of the pastor in any and all relevant areas, as requested.
Assigned by Chancellor for various projects to provide the Nihil Obstat, including (but not limited to): “The Touch of Life” by Fr. Alvaro Montero, DCJM; “Symbolon: The Creed”; “Ydisciple: Follow me”; “Lectio: Finding Intimacy with God”; “YDisciple: Human Sexuality”; et al.
Promote & oversee the education, health and well-being of all students participating in the program; foster student development and spiritual formation throughout the Rome experience; oversaw budget of approx. $500,000 for the Rome program; enter into contractual agreements with all Italian hotels, residences, restaurants, and vendors; determine travel schedules, events, and program activities; and working in close collaboration with the Associate Director and Residence Coordinator regarding the religious, academic, student development, disciplinary and community building aspects of the program. Taught an interdisciplinary course covering Literature, Classics, History and Theology that demonstrated why, in God’s Providence, the Catholic Church is based in Rome.
