Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the senior financial executive of the College, responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight, and stewardship of the institution’s financial resources. The CFO will ensure the College’s financial health, transparency, and sustainability, while advancing its Catholic mission and magisterial commitments. The CFO will work closely with the President, Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, and senior leadership team to align financial strategy with institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Stewardship:
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
- Manage operating and capital budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources in support of mission and priorities.
- Oversee cash management, investments, debt, and endowment performance, ensuring compliance with Catholic moral and ethical investment guidelines.
- Develop financial models that support strategic initiatives, new programs, and enrollment growth.
Accounting, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Maintain strong internal controls, safeguarding institutional assets.
- Monitor compliance with applicable state, federal, and accrediting body requirements.
- Lead enterprise risk management with a focus on fiscal prudence and accountability.
Leadership & Governance Engagement:
- Lead and develop the finance, accounting, and related administrative teams with a culture of integrity, service, and professional excellence.
- Present clear, mission-aligned financial reports and analysis to the President, Finance Committee, and Board of Trustees. Collaborate with deans, faculty, and administrators to align departmental budgets with institutional strategy.
Catholic Mission & Ethical Stewardship:
- Ensure financial practices and policies align with Catholic teaching and the College’s magisterial mission.
- Promote a culture of ethical stewardship, service, and solidarity in decision-making.
- Engage with the broader community to demonstrate responsible and faith-centered use of institutional resources.
Entrepreneurial Innovation & Resource Development:
- Develop and pursue innovative approaches to resource generation, revenue diversification, and cost management.
- Support fundraising, grant development, and partnership initiatives by providing financial insights and structures.
- Seek creative opportunities to strengthen the College’s long-term financial sustainability.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership.
- Demonstrated excellence in financial management, strategic planning, and execution at the highest level of responsibility.
- Proven success managing complex budgets, endowments, debt financing, and capital projects.
- Experience working with governing boards and senior leadership in a collaborative environment.

- Strong financial acumen with expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial planning.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build, mentor, and inspire effective teams.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate complex financial data for diverse stakeholders.
